The National Police have arrested a British employee of a hotel in Valencia who is charged with stealing a bag containing 24,000 dollars from one of the hotel guests.
Europa Press indicates that the owner of the money is a well known poker player who was staying at the hotel with his father. He reported the theft last Thursday when he discovered that the bag with the money inside had disappeared from his suitcase.
Police discovered that two hotel staff had let the two men into their room after they had left the key inside, which is when one of the employees is thought to have entered the room and stolen the money. He is reported to have hidden it in a cleaning supplies room, and then returned during his break to collect the bag.
The 35 year old suspect was arrested this Monday and admitted to the theft. The bag, with all the money still inside, was recovered in a search of his vehicle.
